The gender dimension of hunger
Although progress has been made in recent decades, more than 800 million people around the world still suffer from chronic hunger. Women and girls are particularly affected, currently accounting for 60% of all people suffering from malnourishment.
The current edition of Development in Brief shows how gender discrimination and inequalities exacerbate the hunger problem and how targeted structural changes can overcome it.
